A desire to protect our environment has led us
to drastically reduce the use of pesticides in the production of our
crops. We are currently relying upon the aid of Biological Control
Agents (BCA's). These BCA's or "good bugs" target and control
insects and diseases, naturally, allowing us to grow our plants
greener and cleaner. |
We have also joined with East Jordan Plastics to recycle the plastic pots and trays used on the farm. The amount of plastic a working greenhouse uses in a year is really amazing. Previously all this plastic would have ended up in a landfill. This allows us to provide our employees a safer working environment, and also provides our customers with a more environmentally friendly plant that they can feel good about. |
We encourage you to let us know if we aren't living up to our goal of treating our customers as we would our family. We aren't perfect, but our goal is to try to be better every day! |
Michael's Greenhouses has been owned and operated by the Arisco
family since 1969. Michael's is a leading wholesale grower of
annuals and perennials. We also grow an extensive line of
Easter products, hardy mums and florist quality poinsettias.
We pride ourselves in serving independent garden centers, and high quality retail stores in the New England area. Over the course of our long history, the greenhouse has undergone many changes. With the automated production lines. computerized watering booms, and greenhouses that open and close by themselves in anticipation of the weather. These advances in technology have allowed us to grow bigger, hardier, healthier plants. Our goal is to ensure that the quality of the product leaving our greenhouses and arriving at our customers door is second to none. We continually strive to provide our customers with the highest quality plants and the best service possible. |
