It seems hard to believe, but winter is nearly behind us and spring is only a matter of weeks away! Construction on our brand new greenhouse, G6, is marching right along and planting for the upcoming seasons is well under way. The spring and early summer months are the busiest times of the year in the plant industry as the air warms up, flowers start to bloom and everybody begins their home yard work. Here at Michael’s Greenhouses though, early spring means one more thing to add to the busyness, our beer fest.

On March 29, 2020, Michael’s Greenhouses will be hosting its sixth annual beer fest right in our own greenhouses! Each year since it was started, our greenhouse beer fest has continued to grow in size. For 2020’s beer fest, we have over 40 local breweries, an assortment of food trucks and a live bluegrass band scheduled to perform in our greenhouses. This event has become an outstanding opportunity to try some great, local beers and foods while getting a behind the scenes look at our packed greenhouses during our busiest season.

What has made this event most special, however, has not only been the increased turnout we have seen, but more so what we have been able to do with the raised money, and it is thanks to all of you. All proceeds are donated, and to date, we have raised over $100,000 with half going to the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, CT, and the other half going to Fundacion Centro Cultural Guanin to help water purification and facilities for youths located in the Dominican Republic.

Tickets to the beer fest grants you entry to the greenhouses and an endless supply of tastes and samples from our participating breweries! This event sells out very quickly each year so we advise everybody that is interested in attending to purchase your ticket as soon as tickets become available.
